No. Aspen is a single-purchase app, and we are dedicated to the single-purchase model.
Aspen does not have any built-in AI features, nor does it collect any of your data. Rather than building and training our own proprietary models for things like proofreading, style suggestions, etc, we offer integration with Apple's private and secure Writing Tools and Siri AI. These integrations require Apple Intelligence and Siri AI to be enabled on the device, which puts the user fully in charge of AI use.
No. Aspen uses a fully open folder-based system with cross-compatible .txt and .svg file formats. Project folders can be accessed via the Files or Finder app in Aspen's app folder, or can be exported as .zip files via Aspen's Export Composer. However, since markdown formatting doesn't have a universal image insertion syntax, images inserted into documents in Aspen may not appear in other .txt compatible apps. Otherwise, everything else should be fully portable.
Aspen is designed for Apple's ecosystem of devices. Aspen currently provides support for the Mac, iPad, and iPhone.
